Everybody has that moment. That one moment where something wow's you beyond belief and you sit there thinking to yourself, "That's what I want to be when I grow up." This moment happened to me when I heard the 2002 club hit "Grindin" by the Clipse, produced by the Neptunes. However, while all my friends were mesmerized by the lyrical eloquence of the Clipse, I was amazed by the production of the dynamic duo. I still remember thinking to myself how anyone could make such a catchy rhythm and still maintain a sense of musical beauty simply using only drums. That's when I knew I wanted to become a music producer. Coming from Korean descent, the values of hard work and determination were instilled in my morals ever since I was young, and I carry these values with me when I make my music. Though at a young age I knew music production was something I was interested in, I wasn't given the opportunity to pursue this interest until the 9th grade. The class I took was called Electronic Music, a sort of experimental class that was introduced in order to compensate for the growing popularity in this new style. Having played the violin for about 7 years and knowing the basics of the piano, I picked up producing naturally. A couple weeks went by, and I soon found myself spending all my free time in that classroom. The hi-hat hitting just right as the base pounded against the speakers; the melody slowly transforming as the song went from the hook to the bridge; all these sounds put together in a manner in which I was able to choose overwhelmed me with a feeling I had never experienced before. I was hooked. Today, I have a set up in my room with a MacPro while using Logic Pro for my music. It's been about 2 1/2 years since I started producing and I feel like I've matured as an artist and an individual. Hopefully you enjoy my work and see all my hard work through my music.
