Straight out the "Durty Durty" comes female Hip Hop producer/rapper/singer, VERSATYLE a.k.a 'Dat's Dat Chick'.
As a lyricist, VERSATYLE is well known for her sometimes humorous, but often mind-boggling stories of life and its unpredictable twists and turns. And although VERSATYLE is the realest female lyricist to burst on the scene since MC Lyte and Lauryn Hill, describing her only as a female rapper only sells this "Musical Genius" short. Without a doubt, VERSATYLE is the most diverse Producer/Rapper/Singer/Lyricist/Composer to come into the Hip-Hop game...EVER!!!
The Louisiana born native started rapping at the age of 12. Growing up, VERSATYLE's influences ranged from R&B legends such as Al Green and The Staple Singers to Hip-hop icons Tupac, Queen Latifah, and MC Lyte. These influences are continuously shown through VERSATYLE's jazzy yet eclectic lyrical flow laced with her soulful vocals. Her production influences include Swizz Beats, Mannie Fresh and Timberland and are also enveloped with the 70s musical inspirations of Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield and Earth Wind & Fire.
After migrating up north to New Jersey her skills only expanded. Her music production arsenal has since expanded to include Reason & Pro Tools. VERSATYLE has produced music for many local Jersey and Louisiana artists and has released 2 independent albums of her own.
Those in the Louisiana and New Jersey areas who have had the opportunity to work with VERSATYLE refer to her as, 'Dr. Dre & Missy Elliott of the Durty Durty' because of her unique creativity and versatility. It is safe to say that her name puts it all into perspective - VERSATYLE. |
