SUPe, pronounced “soup” is a dedicated lyricist born on the hard streets of South LA better known as South Central LA. It is well known that the gang-infested streets of LA can be hard on anyone growing up. There are many dangers in doing the simplest day to day activates such as walking to school, playing at the park, and even sitting on your front porch, with the threat of a drive by shooting happening at any moment. At the early age of eleven SUPe spit his very first rap verse, discovering a natural talent for writing lyrics. While attending LA High SUPe teamed up with friends who shared his musical interests and formed the 12 dash 1 crew. (The 12th and 1st letter of the alphabet: LA). With the 12-1 crew, which included K da P, Meat, and “V” (r.i.p.), SUPe recorded several songs and mix tapes. Perfecting his craft to the point of being able to write whole songs in his head. This talent along with the 12-1 mixes tapes caught the ear of Fats with the independent record label Lab Nine Records. Fats and SUPe worked together in 2004 to released SUPe’s debut album Lyrics and Ammo in 2005. SUPe not only displayed great lyrical skills on his debut album; He also showed the ability to form his own song concepts, hooks, stories, and original word play with his trendy lyrical flows. This opened the door for cooperation with many great producers and DJ’s such as SoMarvalous, Dae One, Warren G, Cell, Venezi, Jynxx, Fats, DJ CA$$, and DJ AGE. SUPe made his producing debut on his next project in 2007 released on Lab Nine Records, producing the title track of the project Locked In My Basement. This project also included SUPe’s music video debut as well. SUPe performed in four music videos displaying dedication and a work ethic that is undeniable. Producing gave SUPe an even better knowledge of song construction that is evident in his current works. SUPe has the kind of drive that will not have him rest until he has made it to the top!
