So Real is the name of the new hip-hop duo. Soul rapper and singer, Brina Marie and rap lyricist MiniGanx are two of the finest female entertainers to hit the scene in a long time. By writing and arranging all of their songs, So Real's music has a unique touch of style. This music is based on real life experiences and events and is definitely a reflection of the time. Originally from St. Louis, MO, So Real has surpassed many of their peers and local groups. Beginning at the early age of ten, Brina Marie, with her soulful sound has been entertaining family and friends at church, house parties, picnics, and other get-togethers, whereas MiniGanx has been rapping to the beat since third grade. However, it wasn't until 2003 that these two talented upcoming stars decided to collaborate and pursue music as a profession. Equipped with a real passion for music, a dream and a prayer, these two young women left the nest in St. Louis in pursuit of a career in music entertainment. Soon they began traveling throughout the U.S. appearing in places such as Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Little Rock, Chicago, Texas, Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta and more. With much energy and confidence, So Real graced the stages of night clubs, bistros, schools, fashion shows, and talent showcases. By "rocking the mic" and "keeping the crowd crunk" they quickly established a loyal fan base. Today, So Real has come a long way from free-styling seven songs on a karaoke machine, to recording and working with some of the industry's best; Street Movement Studios, Mykel Myers and the Beat Camp, Win, D.P. of T.I.G. Entertainment, Machete, B Rich Entertainment/The Klinic, etc. Furthermore, the members of So Real are not just entertainers, but in-tuned businesswomen. With guidance from their mentors, they have now developed a legal entity. So Real Music Group Inc. offers artist development, promotions and marketing, as well as publishing. In addition to that, these motivated women have also established their own record label, Insane Records, which is currently looking for talent. Brina Marie and MiniGanx, continue to work hard to reach their goal, which is to gain world wide recognition while "taking their music right to the top."
