My name is Roland aka "Raspitah". I currently live in New Jersey, but was born in Antigua, a small country in the West Indies. I moved to (Bronx) New York with my mom and dad at the age of three. At the age of 10, I noticed I had the same name as that on a stage keyboard owned by my school. After sparking interest, I practiced playing the piano for about 2 years until I lost interest. Years later, in my junior year at high school, I learned that I could sequence and record my own music using my PC. That completely changed my life. Though I wasn't Carnegie Hall material, I retained my knowledge of music theory and applied it to electronic music production. I use mainly Propellerhead Reason to create my music sequences. It has a great sound library and I use it along with Sonic Reality's Refill & Rex series. Layered drums/percussion and synths are commonly used in my songs. I don't really like to sample, but do it occasionally. When/if I sample, I chop the samples up and apply effects to the point where they become something completely different/original. Oh yeah, I Rap too. I'm a true lyricist. I write my own original songs but have only recorded 1 of them (Rhyme So Lovely) just to promote my instrumentals. Music is my life, my calling, my...
