My REAL name is STAHLEN.
I come from a Jamaican Background and I was born in Springfield, MA home of the Basketball Hall of Fame and the birthplace of Basketball. I Played Soccer and Basketball from an early age every year until my Senior year in high school. I also studied Kempo Karate and was part of Amherst Regional track team.
I always listened to a large variety of music. HipHop became my sound of choice once I reached the 10th grade. The 1st rapper I began to listen to religously and who sorta became the father figure in my life at the time was NAS. After high school I attended The University Of Hartford in CT for a year. This is where I found a LOVE for writing (before I started rapping).
Note: I remember Nas was supposed to do a show at our school but it was cancelled. :(
During college I would listen to ALOT of Eminem, JayZ (BluePrint) and Nas. I didnt return to school for a second year. After school I lived in Long Island, NY for awhile but moved back to MomsBasement, MA after a year or so. In 2002 when the Eminem Show hit the selves my life changed. It kinda woke me up in a way...I started writing rhymes and carring a note book. About 1 year later I was at a close friends house when I picked up a Tupac CD (R U Still Down)...IT BLEW ME AWAY ! Any CD that I listen to repetitively has something to teach me as an MC. And I learn So here I am...
I live in Greensboro, NC at the moment. Lyrically I've Come along way. In 2007 I joined the LOUD.COM ONLINE COMMUNITY. This is where I learned/practiced song format, overall presentation, and further honed my skills as an MC. I feel like this site and the very idea of LOUD.COM was MEANT to be MY door into your mind.
