Biography read about me, my style and what I'm all about.
SLAP K. aka Lucky Numba Slevin hails from Gastonia, NC. Born and raised in the "Gas House" on March 3,1982. Growing up SLAP loved hip hop and still does to this day. Listening to the likes of emcees;Notorious BIG, Nas, Jay-Z, Redman, Tupac, Rakim, KRS One, The Game, Lil' Wayne, KanYe West, Eminem, Common, Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, RICK ROSS, Saigon, Papoose, Cassidy and so many more.
It was mainly Redman who had the most influence on SLAP beginning to write rhymes and developing his craft. SLAP used to battle during lunch period in high school, but wouldn't consider himself to be a battle MC. With a style consisting of witty punchlines, nail biting metaphors, and sick wordplay and similies, it is clear to say that SLAP is a "Beast!" SLAP K. ( K for Kelevra from Slevin Kelevra off the movie "Lucky # Slevin )has expanded his love for the art and craft of being an emcee while serving as a soldier in the U.S. Army. He recorded his first mixtape track in Korea with some underground cats, which one happen to be a cat called "Pops" in which he battled. It was his first battle onstage in front on hundreds of people. SLAP would come in 3rd place. After Korea, SLAP would then go on an assignment to Hawaii. That's where he made his name known and claim the title "I'ma BEAST!" While in Hawaii, SLAP K. teamed up with army homeboy, Lo-Key, who comes from Chicago,IL; and they make up the duo IBL ( Inspired By Life ). Working with another army buddy and producer, King James, they would drop their debut mixtape to hit the streets of Hawaii at full speed. IBL Presents:The Mass Punishment Mixtape Vol.1 became noticed to the 808 state in Dec. 06 when IBL earned a spot to perform at a small club called Panama Hatties. The buzz led to other shows to work with local artists of Hawaii, and also to open for Chance & Real ( From the TV show "I Love New York" )at the O Lounge for their Red Light Special. Now, since recently getting out of the US Army, SLAP has been working on solo material and currently grinding as an underground artist.
