Born Arif Burr in Irvington, NJ...HUNNED PROOF has been drawn to music since he was able to speak. His parents said that by the age of 5, he was able to sing whole songs and could carry the tune. As he grew older, so did his love for music and he started writing short songs. But at the time, he was living in the "hood" where drug dealers sold drugs right across the street from his house and where it wasn't uncommon to hear gun shots. To avoid a bad situation, his family moved shorty after to Piscataway, NJ where he got a chance to see the lighter side of things. But even then, he found himself in constant trouble and heading nowhere, fast. So when he turned 18, "HUNNED" joined the Army to get away from the streets, drugs and to avoid possible incarceration. We he finished his service , he moved back to the city of New Brunswick, NJ with a new mindstate.
He and his brother, Kaseem aka Flame Milli-On, decided to start their own record label and home recording studio. Street Dream Entertainment, Nyte Ryder Productions and Safehouse Studios was born. This was a big move with hopes to keep them out of the streets and focused on something positive.
This lyricist and producer has wide commercial/street appeal with the swagger of a superstar. He is an original, street-smart, slick-talker with a powerful delivery. He can create anything from street anthems to club-bangas, political to inspirational, real-life to relationships. HUNNED PROOF has performed at some of the hottest venues and clubs across the country. He has the ability to captivate the audience with his stage presense and powerful voice. The crowd is attracted to his smooth, laid back style and charisma. In August 2006, HUNNED PROOF was nominated for "The Most Original Male Solo Artist Of The Year" at the Underground Music Awards (NYC), hosted by BET's Mad Linx. In 2007 he was nominated in 2 categories, “Most Promising Male Rap Artist” and “Buzz Factor.
HUNNED PROOF opened up for major artists such as Def Jam's recording artists, REDMAN and N.O.R.E. He performed alongside HOT 97's (NYC) own DJ Mister Cee and DJ Jazzy Joyce. He has also collaborated with big names and popular up and coming artists and DJ's such as, HOT 97's, DJ CIPHA SOUNDS and DJ GREEN LANTERN, DJ LAZY K, and RAH DIGGA. To this day, HUNNED PROOF has appeared in many publications such as, "Mic Magazine", "TOUR-Mag.com" and most recently, "Yo! Raps Magazine" just to name a few.
