Come on now, everyone knows the sun rises in the East. Nice how you conveniently forget to mention a single person from the East when trying to make your point. And don't trying to claim Dilla, he might have ventured West, but that sound? Motor City all day. Do you really wanI suppose it's a matter of taste. Those dudes you mention, aren't even in my top 20.
I bet that THA CROW will freestyle all over anyone in this contest. Go listen to his page. Cali is King. Why you think Dilla came West. Everyone loves Madlib. This is the land of freestylers like it or not. From Planet Asia to Freestyle Fellowship to Crooked I, we got legacy kid. We keeping the funk alive.
I just got done watching all the episodes from the Premire to Episode 8...sorry, but Franchise's been holdin it down. And I just saw that Franchise took a spot in the first Round and then had to come back and take another spot to win money. Wow, Franchise has been really doin his thing. Most people, I believe, would've quit after winning and not getting picked but as you can see, this dude's passion and drive for what he's doing is shining bright. Taking nothing away from the other finalists because they have been doing their thing as well. I just feel, from watching all the episodes and seeing what Franchise is doing, my vote is for the King MC. Much respect to Most Official, Killa Kat, and Crow, but the album I'm waiting for is most definately Franchise's 2009 release. SRC/Universal, make a girl happy!
Great contest, great "reality show" take on it. The tasks are creative. Good job loud, I'm tuning in every week.
Here's my opinion on these 4 MCs.
Franchise: Good flow, same look, same east coast sound. Top 2 in this contest.
Killa Kat: Hmmm, why he's still here, I don't know. Dude said he'd never put together a street team. I wonder if he really paid those people. The 3D animation is a cool idea, but I don't think it works for loud. His flow is average. The name Killa Kat is just funny. Mine is too.
Crow: Typical West Coast flow, woulda been good in the mid/late 90s. He's saying all the same stuff Cube used to say. His punchlines are not creative. Too cliche. He does have a strong delivery though. And he seems to be able to put together quality results for these tasks.
Most Official: Creative, polished, nails EVERY task, and ready to go. His voice is unique. His sound is worthy of a huge market. The dude grinds hard.
Oh I'm not hating. I'm just giving you my American opinion. Tha Crow just doesn't get credit where credit is overdue. You're just petting your own egos. Yes gimme the Eiffel give me some context dude! I'm looking at the whole thing objectively. And YES I don't like F. There's nothing refreshing about him.
Tj, you really got it out for Franchise. You spend more time talking about him then his supporters do, if the brand wasn't working, you wouldn't be talking about him. Instead you make it your daily routine to shit on him. Good work keeping his name out there, I am sure he appreciates it.
Knocking his footage is insane. Who gives a damn if dude is in a garage, would it have made you happy if he was on the Eiffel Tower shouting him out? Probably not.Your boy is in the center of the universe, one of the biggest cities in the world, yet he can't take advantage of it. Put Franchise in the same environment and he will kill it. Put ya boy up in New England and people won't look twice at him. Not hate, just honest talk. I respect what ya boy is doing, but he speaks to a real minority(he isolates a huge demographic with the stuff he spits), I don't see him being a star if he wins this contest.
Brand awareness, the act of creating public awareness of a specific brand in order to maximize its recognition. You are the public and you are definitely aware.
