P.R.O.F.I.T (Paper Received Outtatown From Illegal Transactions) was born 1981 in Colombus,Ohio but relocated to the east coast with his mother before he was 1 year old. His father left down south shortly after fleeing from drug chrges. Profit's mother struggled to raise him alone off of public assistance while going to school so they moved around frequently. Profit lived in 5 states by the time he was 17 but was raised in 3 mainly (Amherst/Springfield,MA , Montclair,NJ and Bronx,NY). Being shuffled between different schools and environments Profit learned to adapt to different situations and get money in the process, and by the time he was 14 was already in and out of the legal system. At 15 he was locked up for robbery and sentenced to 1 year in jail (juvenile). During that time he focused on perfecting his craft (rapping) which had been his passion since he was 8 years old. Early influences included; LL Cool J, KRS 1, Kool G Rap, N.W.A., Rakim, Lord Finesse, and later; 2Pac, Nas, Jay-Z, B.I.G., Big L, and Big Pun (before they were deceased). At the age of 17 while visiting Massachussetts from NY, Profit was arrested on a warrant for home invasion (a charge that was later dropped and he denies any involvement in) and sent to the couny jail. Coincidentally, his father had been captured and extradited from Florida that same week after being a fugitive for over 15 years and ended up in the same cell. Meeting his father in jail for the first time and other close-call street experiences motivated Profit to strive and focus on his talent in music as a carreer. In 2001, Profit and longtime friend Chenn founded Bangout Records Inc. in the Bronx,NY. Industry wise, Profit's resume exceeds many veterans in the music buisness having worked with several platinum producers,artists and appearing on national television. Being blackballed and going through dead-end record deals with indy labels caused Profit to focus on the buisness end as well as the music to control his own destiny. Now 5 years later with a chip on his shoulder and 4 kids to live for, Profit is dedicated more than ever to taking the game by storm and claiming his rightful spot as one of the best rappers in the game.
