Biography read about me, my style and what I'm all about.

Laudani a.k.a. One & 0 Born in the Bronx, but originally raised in Harlem until the age of 10, One & 0 now resides in Holmes Towers/ Stanley Isaacs (TSI) located on the east side of Manhattan on 93rd Street (93&1). Rapping since the age of 16, One & 0 can more then easily spit fire on a freestyle or come up with a full song within no time at all. But the best part about this inspiring up and coming artist is that not only can he rap, but he can also make beats that are just as hot as his lyrics, which makes him, by far, one of the most talented artist on the Groundwork ENT. label. Growing up with Gene, Co- CEO of Groundwork, One was easily chosen to be the second artist under the label. Half MC, half producer of Groundwork, he is most defiantely a valuable assist to the label. You can find One on the new Groundwork Mix CD Groundwork From The Ground Up Pt. II teaming up with Show a.k.a. Gunna, the first artist signed under the Groundwork label, Dice, Face and Kev Nice, and other Groundwork artists. Admit tingly, I cant say that I live an extremely hard life. I mean, it defianetly wasnt easy. Ive been through my hard ships, went days without eating sometimes. But thats just the way life is growing up in the projects. And any one from the projects would tell you that. Ive done my lil dirt and sold my lil drugs in my day, but I was lucky. Living in an environment where mostly middle class people live, it wasnt as bad as living in Harlem where you gotta struggle to survive. I moved out of Harlem at a young age and grow up where I still had to struggle, but not as hard. I didnt have much, but I was very appreciative for the little things I did have, because a lot of people do not even have a place to stay on them cold New York City winter nights. I think that music is my calling. I feel very strongly about that. I dont necessarily have to be a rapper, I can do anything from rhyming to making beats, mixing, DJing, shit, even just being the man behind the music. Its all the same to me. By my father being a DJ himself back in the 80s, he inspired me to pursue music. Theres nothing else Id rather be doing in my life, career wise, then something that has to do with music. Im an ol skool hip-hop junky. I like a lot of the new shit thats out today, but to me, todays hip-hop cant hold a candle to the ol skool shit, and I mean late 70s 1980s ol skool. See I was born in 82, and growing up in Harlem for nearly half my life, you have to realize that thats all you would here on the streets. And as time progressed I guess I must of have gotten stuck in the 80s. So I would say that my style today is more of a blend of all types of hip-hop. I think you can really hear it in the way I rap and from the type of beat that I make. I think that there so much talent out there on the street that havent even been signed yet. When it comes to most of todays music, to be honest, I would rather hear the hungry niggas from the streets, out there on the corners on their grind then most of the shit thats being played now on the radio. Its a whole nother energy you get when you listen to street battling and underground shit. A totally different vibe. Hearing shit like that is what keeps me going. Its what inspires me to step in the booth and spit nothing but fire, and if I feel it aint fire, even if someone else tells me that it is, I'm a do the shit over and over til I feel that it is. Thats what I listen to when I need inspiration, when I just dont feel focus enough. I hit the streets, maybe cop an underground mix cd, ya know. -Laudani
