UPDATE!!!! "AFFILIATED" from Jackson, MS. has joined the BOTP ENTERTAINMENT TEAM. Mr. Quentin Nelson, a native of Jackson , MS . JACKTOWN), Leader of the group AFFILIATED has joined forces with BOTP Entertainment Corporation. This Jackson, MS based group was formed 7 yrs ago and consist of three northside Jackson rap artist that have been recording and performing together at various venues every since. The music is southern hip-hop based that transcends all age groups and musical tastes. The songs are filled with catchy choruses and rhythms that have captivated audiences through out the city of Jackson, as well as the state of Mississippi. At live shows the group comes with energy and small improvisation that gives the audience an exciting and memorable experience. About a year or so ago, Affiliated began to evolve and look for more edgier and better quality track production. As it turns out the response to that approach was excellent and the group has began to build a small but steady growing fan base. After hitting the recording studio and recording several sure fire hit tracks (i.e. Country Boyz, and Mississippi) the buzz has started in the underground world of hip-hop about the group. Audience /Format The audience base is a wide range from under 18 to 18-45 yrs age group. Mr. Roland Turner, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana aka CHIEF is the CEO of On Da Grind Records. He is a mixture of an Artist, Writer, Producer, Composer that has been in the music business for over a decade. Due to this tenure he has gain the knowledge of all facets and genres of music, therefore HE knows what He is looking for,and with that being said and his goals, dreams and time lines identified, he has chosen BOTP Entertainment to take the torch for On Da Grind Records, CHIEF and the other artist on his label to the next level. DERRICK DEON JONES a.k.a. VIGILANTE ( BATON ROUGE, LA ). He was born Aug. 8, 1977 in Baton Rouge, La, Yes, he is a LEO. He has had a passion for music ever since he was old enough to comprehend. He has been going 15 years strong at creating his own music and style. He served 3 years in the U.S. ARMY and has traveled all over the world and experienced different cultures and ways of life. He is an introvert and some what eclectic and an analytical individual and very peaceful. Now do not flip the script on him, as this is a boundary one should not step over. As we approach the last semifinalist round of this contest, I just want to thank God for allowing me to use my talent to express myself through music. Without him blessing me with the gift, the strength, the passion, the air in my lungs to breathe on the microphone…I wouldn’t be anything. My dedication for music has always been in my heart. My determination for winning, has gotten stronger each week. Although I have yet to win a round, I remain very humble and respectful to the other emcees and their talents. We’re all competing for the same thing and everybody can’t win. Since joining the site, and to this day, I’ve been through more than enough. Losing loved ones, friends, not being able to see my daughter like I want to. All this and more has made me a stronger person and I continue to P.U.S.H (Pray Until Something Happens). Even without the acronym, I will continue to push whether I win or not. If I do win, I will let all of my friends, family, and fans know…the only thing that will change about me, is the numbers in my bank account. I’m thankful for every vote that I get and I appreciate all the love and support. My ambition will not allow to stop grinding and just throw in the towel.
