I dont' get why we have to use this loud studio which essentially none of us can REALLY sound that good on to record.  Why do we not have the option to record in our own studios and upload the songs?  That way our quality can truly represent our skills?  Is there an option to do that?  I definitely want to be in this contest, but I take my craft very serious & don't want to put out something that makes me sound like an amateur.

THEY WHERE SAYING  THAT THEY WANT US TO USE THE LOUD STUDIO BECAUSE IT ONLY HAS ONE TRACK FOR VOCALS AND THEY DONT WANT OVER DUBS. THEY WANNA KNOW WHAT YOU REALLY SOUND LIKE LIVE AND IF YOU WIN THE WERE SAYING YOU WILL HAVE PLENTY OF TIME IN A TOP OF THE LINE STUDIO WITH PLENTY OF EFFECTS AND PROCESSORS. IT MAKES SENSE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR RAW TALENT.

the real reason they want us to use their studio is so that we spit our hottest and so we dont use these trax for any type of self promotion...like demos, cds, etc....gotta read the terms and conditions bro...everythings legit..dont worry...

So let me get this straight.  We have 1 track to record an entire song?  So we're suppossed to spit straight through the verses in to the hooks?  What happens if the 2 overlap?  Can we get at least 2 tracks!?!?  damn

lmao.  I finally got this shit working, and now I see the beats are only like 30 sec long?  are you serious?  This shit seems really crazy to me.  So they say it's a battle to see who can make the best song but we got 1 track and 30 sec?  lmao.  Seems to me it's really about getting people to put their credit card #'s in and start buying beats, but hey, whatever.  lol.  This contest doesn't show skill at all if you ask me.

one thing I really see as garbage, is this process is going to give a HUGE advantage to people who record and mostly use hardware as opossed to those of us who use software. Think about it.

If someone operates mainly through hardware and has external compressers, equalizers, reverbs, mixers, delay racks.. by the time it reaches their computer to hit record in the Loud software.. it's already going to sound perfect. Because that's how they've always done it, and while they won't get to do any real post-production.. all the people who have used software aren't going to be able to do ANY of that now. and it contrast with the hardware guys, they are gonna get blown out of the water.

and as far as them not wanting you to be able to download the beats for self-promotion is pretty stupid too. If you can hear a sound through your computer, then it's already at risk for being downloaded and jacked. You can simply re-route it through your 'stereo mix' and record it onto a cd. ultra high-quality and still use it.

Also anyone find it kind of sketchy that in the terms ALL material that everyone comes up with for ALL entries becomes complete property of them. They throw a chance of winning a $100k at people.. get them to write the best thing they can possibly come up with.. and now it all belongs to them to use however they want.

Lastly find it a little sketchy how they don't really tell you any of the details about the contract you are going to sign with SRC. what if in the fine-print you are going to be signing a contract that states ALL your material you come up with for the next 10 years belongs to them.. how would you feel about that?
not saying that's the case.. but DEFINITELY know ALL the details about something before you sign or agree to anything.

I see it like this...

1st

If you can make this sound half way good - you should be a monster in a real studio!

2nd

In damn near all contest you enter , the submissions become property of the

contest promoter.

3rd

If you win, No one can force you to sign the contract... It's just offered to you!

For sure. I am simply letting some of these cats know that they should read up on some details and know what they are getting into before they jump all over something... and that alot of offers aren't always as good as they seem. So just do your homework first. and if you're still cool with it, by all means jump in.

This is an awesome opportunity, no doubt. and I'd reccomend it to alot of cats trying to get their name out there. But I wouldn't reccomend it to everyone.

I know nobody out there can force you to sign a contract, but I can't think of too many starving artists in here who are going to win the compeition... get offered the cash and the contract and then not sign that contract.. even if the terms were horrible.

like I said though, just know what you're getting into. that's all bro. I've been in the game for a minute. and there are alot of shady things out there. and people acting like your best friend who'll stab you in the back. so keep your head up. eyes focussed.

and I wish you the best of luck with this!
keep hustling.
