Alright first off, I am writing this coming off of a tremendous high. I actually won the school talent comp first time of entering it. I always thought I could win in the years before entering, plus $150 is a nice bonus.
okay, so it pretty much starts with the music. I always wanted to do this, though I was often dismissing it as a juvenile fantasy. I got more and more into hip hop when I started my teenage years and eventually wrote rhymes as a way of venting. I knew I would be ridiculed and thats why I practiced and practiced and practiced.
I did eventually do what every self respecting young mc does and threw myself into the deep end too early at 14 and by 15 there was a minority of my peers who respected me and a majority that ridiculed me because of my "different" pursuits.
Then as I went through 15 I practiced harder and harder out of spite towards the bully's. This really paid off and I met my good mate Julian who is an actual working musician. He offered me a chance to record with him in his home studio and thats where I cut my teeth along with little open mics along the way.
To sum it up I have a long way to go but nobody and that means nobody, can ever knock me back so hard that I don't get up. I never lose a fair competition and if I ever do then I'll come back harder and wiser.
When it comes to respect I give back what I get
