GR81 A.K.A Version O.N.E alias : The Cerebral Assassin, The Apollo Kid, The Tigah, Mister Infinity. Those are the many names of this young Montreal artist, who has a load of passion and drive for the music business. Listening to Hip-Hop at a very young age, GR81 has been influenced by many rappers : from KRS-One, to Public Ennemy, to MC Hammer ( yes you read right!!), to Rakim and Eric B., Nas, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G, Tupac, Eminem and many many more. By those influences, GR81 has explored Hip-Hop in every single way and at the age of 15, the talent of rhyming and playing with syllables begun. After doing a couple of shows here and there, he encounters Tribe Alone mate Kinsha to from a young group of talent. After assembling the group, Tribe Alone does many shows all over the Montreal area and gets much recognition among there peers. After two years, each members has gone their separate way, but still keeping an eye on each other. GR81 is an emcee, a microphone vandalist, a student, a philisopher and a revolutionnary. His aggressive lyrics and cunning methaphore, makes this young man, one of the best kept secrets in Montreal. After waiting 2 years to make his demo, he finally takes the time to make that project a reality. He's currently working on The Cerebral Assassin : Licenced to be ill EP. This EP will be realeased in the beginning of September. Not only, is he working on being an emcee, but also as a film director. His compagny that he holds with his partner called : Les Films Longue Distance is another project that the young entrepreneur is taking seriouly and hope to make it.
