The Middle East is popping right now and we aint talking about Iraq. The Middle East according to rapper P-Wonda can be better classified as the land that lies in the center of the east coast of the United States. This land is the state known as North Carolina where P-Wonda is claimed to be the Finest. P-Wonda/OTHAZ is the umbrella for projects including a management company, a clothing line as well as programs that tie in with the local radio station to help up and coming talent in the community. Independent has always been the way of the south. P-Wonda has gotten the attention and respect of many industry cats. Still he chooses to stay true to his family, declining opportunities from major label players, producers and rappers alike, so with oppurtunities in the air and a Bornstar representin the Carolina's oh yeah!! The Middle East is about to blow! The name P-Wonda came about because my name is Pierre but everyone used to call me P. When I rhymed there was no telling what I would come up with. I was so versatile that everyone would be like I wonder what P gonna say next. So I came up with P-Wonda. I was born in Greensboro,NC but raised in Petersburg, Virginia. Its all da middle east tho.. You got New York at the top. Florida at the bottom and whats in the middle of the east coast? North Carolina. Thats the reason we call it the Middle East feel me? also my friend/producer Waleed Coyote is really from Beirut. I started rapping in Petersburg. My mom gave me up when I was a little child to my grandma. I started rapping as a little child in elementary.I was inspired by LL Cool J, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Jay Z, Big L & Big Pun. Those are people that I really admired. They inspired me as far as how I write. They painted pictures I could relate to My bornday is April 7, 1982. I started rapping in elementary. My little cousins Cam and Tray they use to rap and what not and they use to wanna rap. However, they couldnt write so I would write my verse and their verses too. We had this little group I was Nicer, Tray was Hyper and Cam was Money. I still remember how some of that stuff GO. i decide to take rap serious after i got locked up. I didnt come to the whole I was definitely a born star idea until I was incarcerated. I opened for a lot of people before I got locked. I did a lot of shows. I use to win a lot of freestyle battles over at the radio station 102jamz; However, I was a half time artist, half time hustler, robber or whatever. I really didnt have a conscious. When I got incarcerated Waleed Coyote my producer kept in touch with me and was always on me like Yo, you really got talent. The whole time while I was incarcerated I used to have it popping on state. I battled rappers on the yard. I wrote alot of songs.Shit I ended up performing for the whole dorm, c.o's,sergeants etc. I ended up becoming a legend on the state. Thats when I officially knew what was really good.
