If I have received any of your attention right now, you're probably wondering, who is this guy LT “The Artist” and what is he about? Growing up LT was an only child. He had plenty of friends around him, but his mother and father decided to move at the beginning of his high school year. This is when he took up an interest in poetry. It was a great avenue of expression for LT. He didn't have to talk to anyone, he didn't have to justify his thoughts, he just put them on paper. His mother even took one of his poems, titled "Trust", and submitted it to poetry.com. The poem won an entry in one of their books and a cash prize. It was a great feeling for LT being recognized for his talent. As LT grew older he started interacting with friends of his that like to freestyle rap. Throughout the whole summer they would freestyle everyday to the same instrumental CD, and get better at it too. This was the evolution of LT as a rap artist. Rapping was just like writing his poetry, except he was putting his words to a beat. He attended college at North Carolina A&T, and graduated in December 2004. LT’s sophomore year he met his "right hand man", C Staff. Rap was his life and he went hard. After a few sessions of LT and C Staff in the booth, C Staff saw something in LT. He wanted to start a group, just the two of them. That's when LT started taking his music more serious. Before, it was something to have fun with, now it was his life too. They formed the group Y.M.A, which stands for Young Mack Association. The dropped a album called "The Vision". They worked extra hard, but they did not accomplish the goal they strived so hard for, to get signed by a major record label. They were in rotation at a local radio station 103.1 in Greensboro NC, and they were featured as new artist. The song was called "Staying Here". It was recorded at The Sound Lab Studio in Greensboro NC, by Tom Rowan, who was once in the top 25 list on the Billboards. The song was a success but they needed more exposure. LT and C Staff reached out to different areas but nothing worked. It seemed their 1st album, "The Vision" was a failure. Next, Staff and LT decided to work on their solo projects. LT felt he brings more creativity to the table when it's 100% him. For this album he reached out to different people and gained a lot of knowledge on the way. He had featured on his solo album, Robert Curry (Day 26) and he reached out to a hot producer, LD from Young Beast productions. He resided in Norfolk VA but just recently relocated to Wendell NC. His album, “The Reflection” had the feel that "The Vision" lacked. “The Reflection”, is a breath of fresh air to Hip-Hop. The album was featured from January to March 2008 on collegewire.net as well. The album did well in the streets and got LT recognized by the public. LT continued to work hard and decided to drop a mixtape called “The Preparation 2.1”. LT is now promoting his new mixtape, going from city to city and state to state to spread his music. He has a smash single, “I’m Flossin” currently in rotation at 103.1 FM Greensboro NC. LT is an artist with a lot of energy, drive and most of all determination. LT is a song writer and an entertainer, but you should judge for yourself. Take a listen to any of the music from LT “The Artist” and I guarantee you will feel the passion.
