December 6, 1984 K.Smitt born Kent Powell Smith III was born in South Side Jamaica Queens New York. While growing up in Queens K.Smitt went threw everything a normal child from the hood goes through but in a different way. K.Smitt went threw a lot of family problems and trying to live in the streets responsibly. At the age of 10 his interest in music developed especially in hip hop (rap). Still he really didn't fully decide if he was going to actually get into the hip hop biz. Until his 6th grade play which marked his entry in hip hop when he rapped the part of Master Gee in Rappers Delight. From then on K.Smitt back then known as KMC started to write his own raps. He teamed up with his friends Poppy, Tris, and Darren (Now known as Nova Blaze). They and he became the South Side Crew. The group did block parties and rocked the mic but it was K.Smitt and Nova that did most of the writing. After a disappointing performance at a block party the group disabled. K.Smitt and Nova was left to do things on their on. Junior High Came and went. Nova and K.Smitt went to different high schools. One day K.Smitt came to Nova's house to meet up to chill for the weekend. On this day Nova re-introduce K.Smitt to a childhood friend Rob (Scarr). From that day on it was the three of them. They and at the time Camera Shy formed the group M.L.P "Major League Playaz" on their indie label Money Makin Ent.. After two LP's, Family issues, and problems in school K.Smitt left New York to get away from the thing that caught up to him that he tried to avoid. With a hiatus in Pennsylvania K.Smitt considered music as a hobby and will only do it on his spare time. K.Smitt had to focus on school and get threw that above all. For the most time K.Smitt was off and on with his music, doing special guest appearances on his friends albums, having freestyle battles against people. At this time K.Smitt was done with high school and now serving time in the military army. During his deployment leave his childhood friend Rob introduced him to S-Large and Nasty Nate. K.Smitt went to the studio with them. S-Large and Nasty Nate liked what they heard from K.Smitt and offered him a spot on their indie label "Royaltee". K.Smitt thought it was time to let his skills show and let them be known so he joined the label. After a little success in Hawaii with Elementos and the hit reggaeton duo S.O.S with his partner Otero. Now with the feeling that game is killing the thing that created him the thing that made him what he is "Hip Hop". K.Smitt thinks its time for real rap real hip hop to come back into play.
