Jay star is more then just music, he is a brand. when asked how jaystar feels about the current state of the music biz, he states, "Right now labels dont know how to make money off of music. With illegal downloading nobody is selling records.Artist have to be more then artist, they have to be an entity that can generate profit." With this in mind he plans on developing himself as a brand. As an artist coming out of New York City he believes that it is harder for him because the market is saterated with talent and A&Rs are turned off to MCs from New York and Phili. When ask about how he felt about this he replies, "Its fucked up that A&Rs are over looking NY talent.At least for me, but nothing in life is easy. I mean if nobody wants to invest in me then ima hustle and put out my own shit." He goes on to say he makes music and he will continue to do that reguardless of what the industry is doing. He is now working on a mix tape called shining season and networking with various producers to make it happen. He also is teaming up with Parasoma.com to handle the artistic aspect of his marketing. he goes on to say, "this is a business in order for people to invest in you, you have to show them that you are capable of running things on your own. nobody just gives out money. especially if its not tax deductable...lol" Jaystar believes he can bring the Bronx Back to the table and be a force in the industry. "First we going to take over the Bronx then the rest of New York." Look out for "JayStar" and "Star Time Records" coming soon.
