With the rich history of New Orleans, it is no wonder why it is one of its most fertile breeding grounds for producing the next generation of rappers, one being its new southern sensation Chief Major. With Chief Majors wild energy and visionary lyrics he is able to articulate some of the most colorful stories about growing up in south. After grinding in the streets and doing whats necessary to maintain his rap credibility, Chief Major is getting his chance to shine through. Chief Major, aka Kashif Wedlaw was born into music. The son of Justeen and Robert Wedlaw he inherited his musical abilities from both his parents. (His father being an accomplished songwriter; and mother being a teacher of performing arts.) By doing so he caught the ear of 2 people who would play important roles in his musical journey, Universal Motown A&R Coordinator Kay K Rosemond and President / C.E.O. of The Nu Breed Music Group Anthony Fate Lynch. Alongside both men respectably, Chief has once again reached commercial success with his new singles Ride with me, Clap, and Skip to it.
