In "The Millionaire Mind," Dr. Thomas Stanley discovered that nearly all of the millionaires he interviewed for his book said that spending time with family was compatible with wealth building, not a distraction from it. Remember that the next time you're faced with the choice of rebalancing your portfolio or going to your daughter's track meet or role in a stage play. What's more, you've got integrity. That's good, because on this path you'd be lost without it. Integrity and honesty are not just important for living well, but markers of financially successful people. If, as Stanley's millionaires point out, you do wrong by your clients, your suppliers, your employees, what chance have you to sell them your ideas and gain their trust?... Pick your battles carefully and listen to your inner voice. Develop a love for what you do, or find another occupation that makes you want to leap out of bed each morning.
