Born in Brooklyn, NY his parents left in the 80's seeing the coming of drug related violence in East New York. Moving to Miami, his family moved again in '89 during the Cocaine Cowboy era. Moving north of Atlanta, AkA began honing his skills as an MC in Soul Shack Dominion. Though he was now away from the city, he would routinely go down to Little 5 Points in Atlanta to cop Mix Tapes and battle local MC's at venues such as The Web. Soul Shack nearly got a deal with a well known R&B artists production label but talks stalled when the label wanted the group to embrace the Bling style. AkA continued to hone his rap skills battling rappers in Havana Club in Italy and Gas Panic in Tokyo. Now ready for spotlight, he comes to put the rap game on its ear.
